Shuttles, Taxis, and Transfers
Taxi and shuttle services are available when you arrive. Taxis are safe in the Dominican Republic, but booking a taxi at the airport can be stressful.
The operators are all shouting for your attention as soon as you step out into the sun; you won't know who to choose.
Also, unlicensed taxis are a common scam in the Dominican Republic. Unlicensed taxis aim to overcharge customers.
The easiest way for visitors to know if a taxi is unlicensed is by the lack of stickers that are placed on the vehicles providing tourism transportation that indicates they are licensed.
Majestic Elegance is located about thirty minutes away from the airport. For a hassle-free experience, you can book a private transfer to get from the airport to the resort.
Booking an airport transfer in advance will save you time and money. In addition, a pre-booked airport transfer is the best way to ensure an easy arrival.
As soon as you arrive, your private transfer will be waiting for you. Your driver will take you right to Majestic Elegance.

You can find luxury transfers available for higher prices as well. A luxury transfer averages $60 per trip. It may include welcome beverages as you drive to the resort.
Shared Punta Cana Shuttles
If you are traveling alone, consider booking a shared shuttle to save money. While you will need to wait for other passages, the cost will be significantly less than booking your own transfer.
The cost of a shared shuttle is as little as $8 per person. Shared shuttles are faster than big tour operators because they operate smaller vans.
Buses, Motorbikes, and Rental Cars
If you're traveling light, consider taking a local bus (gua gua) to the resort. Unfortunately, there is no space for suitcases from the airport.
Bus maps are available at stands around the airport, please note, there is no direct bus from the Punta Cana Airport the Majestic property, you would need to take a bus to Higuey and then another bus from Higuey to Majestic, this makes a 30 minutes trip easily 3-4 hours. Taking the bus costs as little as $2. Of course, it won't be luxurious or timely. But, it will be an adventure!
Cars are also available for rental at the airport by all major car rental companies. However, it is not recommended to rent a car because driving can be chaotic, especially in the cities.
Yet, if you plan an extended stay in Punta Cana and have experience driving with little rule-following, it is another consideration.
